About Laura

Artist Laura Friis is a Small Mammal and Herpetofauna Specialist for the British Columbia Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks. Gary and Judy Matson first met Laura when she was the cementum aging coordinator for the province.

Laura writes, "I don't have a website of my own, although I do have fun with our Frogwatch site (http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/wld/frogwatch/). My cats don't either, although the place they came from (and hence some of their immediate family) do: http://www.abys.net."

Laura annually contributes the art for the Christmas greeting that is sent to all the biologists for whom we regularly work. It's become a special part of the holiday season, appreciated not only by Matson's but also by the many persons who tell us they look forward to it each year.
